Red Sox vs Yankees 1978 rivalry

So far reading this, I can tell that the Yankees are having a serious problem with the newspaper and Morabito is trying to get Martin to come back as manager even though he was already fired. Billy Martin definitely had some backlash toward Reggie Jackson even though he was an all- star. Even though Reggie Jackson was a 7-time all star, Billy Martin but role players like Thurman Munson which is kind of weird to me considering how good Reggie Jackson was at the time.

The newspaper was so popular in New York at that time, that when the newspapers didn’t come out one day, silence was in the city which is shocking to me considering how much newspapers influenced that generation of people and how they read recent stories and articles compared to how we do it in the modern day. All we have to do is look online on our phones, computers, tablets, etc, or we can just check the news channel for recent activities that happened locally, nationally, or worldwide.

The Yankees at the time were in desperate need of a comeback in the postseason, which they ended up achieving, winning the division championship against their rivals that season, the Boston Red Sox, winning the ALCS against the Kansas City Royals, and winning the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. I find that amazing the comeback they had because not only did they have to deal with the adversity of the press and the newspaper, they also had to deal with making sure they came back in time and bring a title to the Bronx and I find that sensational because the Yankees are my favorite baseball team and it makes me glad that they were able to get that comeback and win a World Series.
